If a veil is not for you style your wedding dress with a tulle hair bow by Tulle and Flo at Limelight Occasions

Nothing says ‘you are getting married‘ like a wedding veil. That beautiful sweep of tulle has almost magical powers when it comes to reducing everyone to tears. Softly floating tulle is totally on trend so, styling your wedding dress with a statement veil or tulle accessory, has never been more exciting.

Wedding Veils – the Latest Trends

The wedding veil, like the tiara, has undergone an amazing transformation in 2020. A statement veil can now mean anything from a stunning cathedral length lace edge to the laid back pony tail veil. Our brilliant bridal and menswear stylist, Claire, is also the creator of the fabulous Tulle & Flo and is an expert in styling your wedding dress with a statement veil or tulle accessory so we are thrilled to be stocking her latest collections at Limelight. Claire designs and makes innovative wedding accessories right here in Yorkshire. Her ponytail veil makes a soft, feminine bridal statement. Wear it with hair tied back or flowing loosely for an effortlessly elegant look. https://www.instagram.com/tulleandflo/?hl=en

The ponytail veil is also a perfect choice if your wedding dress has a detailed back. The tulle parts softly to reveal beading, lace or a plunging back and blends simply into the train of your dress.

Veils are now embellished with gorgeous detail and can be customised to match your dress. If the skirt on your wedding dress is plain, add  iridescent sparkle with our breathtaking Nixie veil by Tulle & Flo. Play the video below :

Tulle Hair Bows

If a veil is not for you, make your bridal statement with elegant wedding wings, wedding cape or  bow. Here we show you some gorgeous options. If you love the idea of tulle in your hair but do not want a veil style your wedding dress with pretty tulle hair bow.

Angel Wings and Bridal Capes

Angel wings and bridal capes also make a stunning statement in tulle. Attached to the shoulders of dress, adding romantic drama to every move you make, wedding wings and capes can also be detached, giving you two looks on your wedding day.

How to style your wedding dress with this season's trending tiaras to make the ultimate bridal statement

How you style your wedding dress says everything about you as a bride. Here we show you how the latest tiaras will help you make the ultimate bridal statement this season. This blog is part one, of a three part series, on how to style your wedding dress with statement wedding accessories to be published weekly. In parts two and three, we look at how to style your wedding dress with the ultimate in veils, capes, wedding wings and jewellery.

Limelight’s beautiful wedding tiaras veils  are designed and handmade right here in the UK with custom options available.

Statement Tiaras

Tiaras are big in every sense of the word right now with truly creative pieces designed to express your individuality. The Wild Romance and Modern Love collections, by the amazing Debbie at Arianna Tiaras, are so refreshingly different they have our Limelight stylists absolutely buzzing.

The Everlasting tiara is our all time favourite… a halo of pearls… the ultimate in bridal romance and completely unforgettable! We fight over who gets to model it.

Style your wedding dress with Daisy Chain headband AR 609 for a festival wedding vibe. This is Haley’s favourite piece from Arianna’s Wild Romance Collection because it’s a fresh, confident twist on a tiara and works perfectly with a boho dress for a barn or woodland wedding. Jane loves the Vida headband AR 640 because it is stunningly simple and soooo stylish. Team it with Vida drop earrings ARE 640 for the extra WOW factor. For relaxed glamour, style your wedding dress with the Zephyr headband. These strands of twisted pearls look amazing if you are wearing your hair long and down on your wedding day. Claire adores a headband and relaxed glamour is definitely her thing.

Hair Sparkle

If you want your hair sparkle to wow from the side or back view, style your wedding dress with these stunning hair vines, combs and pins…

The Everlasting hair comb AR631 matches the Everlasting tiara and oozes statement romance  – pure class!

My personal favourite here is the Fiji veil comb. I just love the exotic gold leaves and ivory enamel flowers intertwined with pearls and crystals. It reminds me of sun, sea and gently wafting palm trees which is just gorgeous for a beach wedding. Rita loves simple sophistication and the Purity pearl pins are the perfect way to style your wedding dress for this statement retro look. Beautiful golden leaves wrapped around multi sized pearls create a magical half halo in the Aurelia hair vine. Jane and Haley are likely to be seen around the boutique in these golden leaves because they work beautifully on both blondes and brunettes. How amazing would it be to wear Aurelia in a woodland at sunset? It can even be combined with the Aurelia headband to create a customised circlet to channel your inner goddess!

If you are into flower crowns but also love a little bit sparkle, then check out this Stunning tiara…

For the size and feeling of a flower crown without the commitment to fresh flowers, style your wedding dress with the Larspur tiara AR601 this beautiful, tall, delicate tiara with handmade branches of pearl and crystal and matt enamel flowers … the ultimate in bridal statements.

If you want your wedding dress to truly wow everyone on your wedding day, a beautiful back is definitely the way to go. While you and your partner are saying your vows, your family and friends have a full length view of the back of your bridal gown and plenty of time to take in all the gorgeous detail.

D2478 by Essense of Australia is the perfect example of a fitted wedding dress with a low open back and lace straps. The floral lace edging is elegant and romantic with a hint of sexy and draws the eye down to the waist.

If you love a wedding dress with the drama of lace but do not want too much back exposure Essense have it covered with D2711

The transparent lace sits just beneath the shoulder blades in a gentle V and creates a very pretty back which is not too low.

For an exotic destination or beach wedding delicate back straps and backless wedding dresses are hard to beat in plain, beaded or lace fabrics.

A pretty peep hole back always turns heads; and this boho wedding dress with ivory lace over a soft cafe colour and high waistband with lace straps forming a fashionable triangular shape will wow guests at a rustic wedding in a barn or woodland – D2607

This plain mikado fishtail wedding dress has a sparkle beaded peephole back which absolutely oozes vintage glamour – D2177

Of course, you don’t have to bare any flesh at all to have a show stopping back on your wedding dress. A fine tulle with lace motifs or beaded detail can create the illusion for you with stunning effects.

Wedding photographers love nothing more than a romantic shot of the happy newly weds walking away from the camera hand in hand. A wedding dress with an illusion back is always stunning in this kind of shot. This off the shoulder fishtail lace wedding dress D2322 by Essense is a perfect example.

Whether your wedding dress is figure hugging

or a fairy tale ball gown a full lace back adds to the wow factor,

while simple, long sleeved wedding dresses with low back backs such as Essense D2972 are stunningly elegant and sophisticated.

Wear a lace wedding dress with long sleeves and a low back for that timeless, iconic bridal look.

Nothing shows off beautiful shoulders like this A line wedding dress with a classic bodice  and off the shoulder drape straps which add instant wow factor to the back of the dress.

And finally …when looking for the wedding dress with the perfect wow factor back, don’t forget the classic strapless bodice … just look at our beautiful Limelight bride Katya at her wedding in St Lucia …

WOW

I’m a great believer in serendipity – its amazing how it brings people together. Haley discovered Laser Made Occasions on a family day out at Emley Show. The team create unique personalised gifts, cards and decorations for Weddings, Birthdays, Christmas and all special occasions. They are primarily an E commerce business but decided to bring their products to the show so, as a bit of an afterthought, they designed a banner for the stand with their company name in fabulous sparkly letters. Haley is attracted to all things sparkly – it’s a family trait – so she stopped to chat to Tom and this is the result …

These beautiful ivory banners with sparkly graphite lettering now hang outside Limelight making our bridal boutique unmissable on the busy A624 between Huddersfield and Wakefield. We are so grateful to Christian, Liam, Tom and the family team who designed and installed them for us. The guys have a creative ‘can do’ approach to everything they do and go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect including grinding rusty bits off the Lockwood Bridge …

and grappling with overgrown ivy…

Nothing is too much trouble for the guys who are currently in the process of designing new signage for us.

They designed and made our Lockwood Bridge sign in honour of a much loved dad and grandad, Frank Lockwood

and it is on this bridge that Limelight brides fasten a lovelock to celebrate that special moment when they find their wedding dress

and take the key away as a momento

Laser made occasions have also made an impact on the Limelight catwalk, creating a beautiful trellis for our bridal arch

which looks uber romantic covered in cherry blossom

and we especially love the sparkly Limelight Bride crates the guys made for our selfie props!

Laser Made Occasions have just launched a new range of personalised wedding favours, invitations, table decorations and guest books. Check them out at

Getting together with photographer Sarah Brabbin, florist/event dresser Jane (better known as the Woo B Woo fairy) and baker extraordinaire Jeanette Moorhouse for a photoshoot is always a great day out , because it means working alongside incredibly talented people to create… well … an entire wedding… while having lots of laughs – what’s not to love? All that was missing from the beautiful wedding venue in the Standedge Tunnel Visitor Centre was a groom!

Haley and I arrived with our gorgeous models Kaye, Sarah and Claire clutching armfuls of soft spirit wedding dresses to fit Jane’s boho brief, to find the others hard at work setting up the stunning Thomas Bourne room for the wedding reception. Jane was filling the grade II listed warehouse with flowers in this seasons colours and laying the tables with pretty vintage pieces, while Lisa was creating works of balloon art among Peter’s amazing light Installations. Jeanette’s mouthwatering cakes were sitting within circles of twinkling lights and greenery and Bev, the venue’s brilliantly organised wedding coordinator, was liaising with the boatman so our brides could arrive by barge. A quick change into layers of tulle and wellies and we were all set to take to the waterways.

Standedge Tunnel, Britain’s longest, deepest, highest canal tunnel is one of the seven wonders of the waterways and helped to fuel canal mania and our industrial revolution. The tunnel lies 194 metres beneath the stunning Standedge moors in the Yorkshire Pennines and the beautiful visitor centre and wedding venue was once the tunnel warehouse storing coal, wool and grain ready for transportation from Huddersfield to Manchester.

Sarah had already been on a reckie of the waterways and chosen the locations for the shoot so the girls hitched up their dresses and we all clambered into the barge that now transports brides on their wedding day. These are the stunning results:

The combination of industrial and rural landscape makes Standedge a unique photographic location.

And then it was up to the ceremony room beautifully lit and dressed by Peter, Jane and Lisa …

Which gave us the perfect opportunity to shoot the custom made veils that Claire designs and creates.

And finally it was down to the Thomas Bourne room where all the after ceremony fun takes place.

Loving the dreamy evening light…

Huge thanks to all these very talented and very lovely people, to the wonderful Sarah Brabbin for her amazing photography and to our stunning models Sarah, Claire and Kaye. Sending lots of Limelight love and congratulations to Kaye, Kyle and Archie … our very favourite photo of the day…xxxx
