Getting together with photographer Sarah Brabbin, florist/event dresser Jane (better known as the Woo B Woo fairy) and baker extraordinaire Jeanette Moorhouse for a photoshoot is always a great day out , because it means working alongside incredibly talented people to create… well … an entire wedding… while having lots of laughs – what’s not to love? All that was missing from the beautiful wedding venue in the Standedge Tunnel Visitor Centre was a groom!

Haley and I arrived with our gorgeous models Kaye, Sarah and Claire clutching armfuls of soft spirit wedding dresses to fit Jane’s boho brief, to find the others hard at work setting up the stunning Thomas Bourne room for the wedding reception. Jane was filling the grade II listed warehouse with flowers in this seasons colours and laying the tables with pretty vintage pieces, while Lisa was creating works of balloon art among Peter’s amazing light Installations. Jeanette’s mouthwatering cakes were sitting within circles of twinkling lights and greenery and Bev, the venue’s brilliantly organised wedding coordinator, was liaising with the boatman so our brides could arrive by barge. A quick change into layers of tulle and wellies and we were all set to take to the waterways.

Standedge Tunnel, Britain’s longest, deepest, highest canal tunnel is one of the seven wonders of the waterways and helped to fuel canal mania and our industrial revolution. The tunnel lies 194 metres beneath the stunning Standedge moors in the Yorkshire Pennines and the beautiful visitor centre and wedding venue was once the tunnel warehouse storing coal, wool and grain ready for transportation from Huddersfield to Manchester.

Sarah had already been on a reckie of the waterways and chosen the locations for the shoot so the girls hitched up their dresses and we all clambered into the barge that now transports brides on their wedding day. These are the stunning results:

The combination of industrial and rural landscape makes Standedge a unique photographic location.

And then it was up to the ceremony room beautifully lit and dressed by Peter, Jane and Lisa …

Which gave us the perfect opportunity to shoot the custom made veils that Claire designs and creates.

And finally it was down to the Thomas Bourne room where all the after ceremony fun takes place.

Loving the dreamy evening light…

Huge thanks to all these very talented and very lovely people, to the wonderful Sarah Brabbin for her amazing photography and to our stunning models Sarah, Claire and Kaye. Sending lots of Limelight love and congratulations to Kaye, Kyle and Archie … our very favourite photo of the day…xxxx

By popular request, Giles Turner of Eternity Bridal, returns to Limelight for another eagerly anticipated designer event that has our brides queuing up to find their wedding dress with guidance from this renowned bridal stylist. An expert in his field with an impressive resume, including television appearances, Giles has helped literally thousands of brides to pick the perfect bridal gown, travelling the country with the latest styles hot off the Eternity bridal catwalk.

Giles CV includes styling brides in his own, very successful bridal boutique, before joining Eternity bridal as Sales Director responsible for working with independent bridal boutiques  – hosting catwalk shows to help them select the very best gowns from the brand’s latest wedding dress collections and advising on the latest trends with styling tips guaranteed to turn heads.

The Limelight team have always enjoyed working with Giles. He is fun, and dare we say flamboyant? He gives honest opinions – totally telling it like it is – and our brides love him not least because he has an uncanny sixth sense about which dresses will look truly amazing on them!

Giles and his CEO, Amanda Bradwell are passionate about their bridal industry and especially about making sure that brides receive an authentic, top quality wedding dress. Eternity Bridal has lead the fight against con merchants who use designer’s images to trick unsuspecting brides into buying nasty fake copies of designer wedding dresses on line.

Click the link below to see Giles in action  on TV in BBC One’s Fake Britain during the Brides Beware Campaign in 2016.

Passionate, committed, fun, flamboyant and honest – what more can a girl ask for in a totally talented bridal stylist?

Limelight bride, Alexandra summed it all up in the message she sent the day after Giles had helped her find her amazing wedding dress at Limelight:

Thank you for making my dreams come true
