This blog celebrates weddings with an added touch of vintage, and was inspired by our very own stunning bride, Sarah’s country eclectic wedding. Sarah and Peter have mastered the combination of vintage with contemporary, adding thoughtful and personal touches that make their wedding day truly special. From the ultimate venue, to the wow factor dress and accessories, this is a wedding to be admired.

The pale blue walls with the ornate floral curtains make a stunning backdrop for Sarah while this dusky rose shade for bridesmaids works perfectly complimenting the surroundings and echoed in the simplicity of her beautiful cake.

Whilst Sarah didn’t opt for the classically vintage dress, she did choose the classically beautiful. She wore Buenos Aires by the spectacular designer Ian stuart. The portrait neckline with draping compliments Sarah’s figure beautifully, and the flower at the crown of the underskirt adds to the element of romance, whilst in keeping with the subtle use of flowers that have been incorporated into most aspects of the day. I especially love the choice of matching head dress, also an Ian stuart piece, which goes beautifully with this stunning gown.

One of the best things about this wedding is the attention to detail, especially the personalised rubber ducks! Sarah commented when sending us these stunning pictures ‘You will notice some ducks in here, we bought them as wedding favours for all our guests, personalised to each person; they went down very well!’ And I can see why they did, this is such a unique touch and brings an element of fun and laughter to the day. Favours like these leave the guests feeling special themselves, the thought that was behind each little duck shows how much each guests means to the bridal couple, and makes the wedding all the more memorable.

We are truly proud to have been a part of Sarah’s day and wish her and her hubby all the best!

When Vix arrived at Limelight, her vivacious personality was immediately infectious and we had lots of fun whenever she and her Mum, Caroline, visited the boutique.Vix and Adam created a wonderful mix of tradition, romance and laughter for their big day. Vix, a professional dancer, chose a fitted fairytale dress with waterfall skirt by Essense of Australia that reflected their vision of the day and complimented her personality and her figure perfectly. As always Joel Skingle has captured all those moments – from church to golf carts – that made this wedding day so special.

We love the exotic colours picked out for the bouquet, the elegant balance of tropical warmth with ivory perfectly complements the choice of colour for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. And of course, hats off  to the mother of the bride, Caroline who wears John Charles so stylishly.

‘Happy girls are the prettiest’ – Audrey Hepburn

We love this photo, the dress and veil perfectly compliment the grand decor of the country club. It’s a truly powerful image and captures the waterfall effect of Vix’s skirt in all its beauty.

Personal touches mean so much to a bride on her wedding day. Caroline tied her husband’s wedding ring into Vix’s bouquet in a very special tribute to her dad, David. Every bride is individual, and it’s that individuality that shines through Vix’s wedding and make it inspirational – the little details that gives us a glimpse of the personalities of the bride and groom – check out the Mother of the Bride robe, the Wellies and the yummy earrings ……

One of our favourite photos – capturing the emotion of the the moment wonderfully. You can see how the beautiful  fit of the dress shows off Vix’s gorgeous silhouette perfectly.

In addition to Joel Skingle Photography and Limelight Occasions, Vix and Adam would like to credit Fiona Pickles of Firenza Floral Designs, Lauren Sally for hair and make up, Karen Mellor Sugar on Top, for the cake, Jemma Cochrane of Chair Covers of Yorkshire for the room dressing, Alexandra Electric Violinist for music, The Yorkshire Wedding Car Company, Lee Carl for the videography and Richard Knowles, Amy and all the team at Rudding Park for the fantastic venue and service both in the run up to and on the day itself.
